Our Work
Beltzhoover School Project
Beltzhoover Elementary School sits at the highest point in the neighborhood of Beltzhoover. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is also a Local Historic Landmark. After years of educating the children of the community, the school closed its doors in 2004. With the assistance of City Councilman Bruce Kraus, the Beltzhoover Consensus Group purchased the school in 2018. Once the multi-million dollar renovations are completed there will be 36 one & two bedroom apartments. The new addition will also include a Community Service Facility to be utilized by the BCG to provide various services to the community. Four 1 story cottages and two 2 story townhouses will also be built on or near the school site.
Housing
906 Montooth Street: With the generosity of the Birmingham Foundation, the BCG has purchased its first house for rehabilitation. With the goal of making this house a home, it is the first of many structures the BCG hopes to renovate and revitalize the community. 906 Montooth is being renovated by Beltzhoover native John Walker from Turnkey Property.
